THE GIRLS
In the summer of 2015 we introduced 5 sheep to the property. The main purpose was to help keep the grass in the pasture mowed. The thought originally was to sell them for meat. That was until I came along with sweet feed and animal crackers. It didn't take long until I named each and shortly thereafter had them coming down the pasture to greet me. Each ewe has a different personality. They are a breed of hair sheep that do not need shearing and they shed their fleeces annually. Many people ask why we don't sell the wool but their fleeces contain too much hair to be suitable for the wool market. They are now pets and a wonderful part of our farm family.
